One of our first experiences w/ oils was to attempt to get rid of my husbands candida.  Candida is genetic skin condition. It started when he was living in humid New York City several years ago and has been there ever since! It's the worst on his back and neck.  It is red, itchy and can get sore.  When it first showed up he went to a dermatologist that told him to rub some cream on it.  He did and it took a month to start going away and if he missed a day it would come right back!  It got to be too much of a pain, so he quit using it and just figured he'd live w/ it.  We used to scrub it in the shower to try to get rid of it.  It would make it dry up a bit, but it never left.

Before!
So, we started putting melaleuca and oregano on the places where he had the candida.  We applied it once a day right before he went to bed for about 4 days and it went away!  Just like that!  It's been several months and it has not returned.

After 4 applications of melaleuca and oregano!

Baby T teething???

I'm not sure, but I think Baby T is teething!  He was not his usually happy self at all yesterday and when we were getting him ready for bed he felt hot, so we took his temperature and sure enough....he had a temp of about 101 degrees!  We took his p.j.s off and applied peppermint (1:1, diluted 1 part coconut oil and 1 part peppermint) and lavender (1:1) and applied them on his back, the bottom of his feet, on the back of his neck and behind his ears.  We did this a 3 times over the course of an hour and a half before we put him to bed.  His temp was around 100 at that time.  He woke up at 12:30 am was still warm and so we applied them again.  He woke up again at around 4 am and his fever had broke!  He is doing great this morning :)  Now if only I could get a nap....

Hi!

We are moms that use essential oils in everyday life to cure aches, pains, earaches, infections, mold....pretty much, you name it, we have a cure for it!  Our families tease us about this very thing, but when someone has a cough, we are the first ones they call!  We are exploring natural remedies and alternatives to help us save money, time and our sanity!  We want to share our knowledge with people as we go along.  Much of our stuff we figure out w/ trial and error, and a good portion is advice we receive from others!   Either way, we will let you know the outcome of our different ailments as we use essential oils to help us overcome them.  We also would love to hear of what you would do differently!
