Diaper Rash Relief

One of the things that I love about my essential oils and the book that I use as my guide is that it is always okay for me to try other mixtures of the oils. For instance, when my one year old, Wren, first started getting diaper rashes I tried the Lavender Essential Oil which is what my book recommended. It did not really make much of a difference so I researched some of the other oils and came up with my own miracle mix! I added 1 smidgen of a drop of Peppermint (I put a little bit on my finger, then dipped it into the Fractionated Coconut Oil) , I drop Melaleuca, 1 drop Lavender and 2 drops Frankincense to 1 Tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil. This mix has worked miracles on Wren's rashes.

After Sun

Last weekend we spent quite a bit of time in the great outdoors having fun w/ our extended family!  We got a bit of sun for the first time this year and most of us went home sporting sunburns!  My mom is a huge believer in aloe and I am too actually, but I wanted to try some essential oils as well.  I took a little 2 oz spray bottle and filled it about 1/4 full w/ aloe gel then I added 10 drops of lavender and 10 drops of peppermint.  I filled it the rest of the way with water and put it on my hurting forehead and nose!  Almost instantly my sunburned areas felt so much better! The peppermint and lavender really did the trick!  I'm hoping I won't peel...time will tell!

Baby T teething???

I'm not sure, but I think Baby T is teething!  He was not his usually happy self at all yesterday and when we were getting him ready for bed he felt hot, so we took his temperature and sure enough....he had a temp of about 101 degrees!  We took his p.j.s off and applied peppermint (1:1, diluted 1 part coconut oil and 1 part peppermint) and lavender (1:1) and applied them on his back, the bottom of his feet, on the back of his neck and behind his ears.  We did this a 3 times over the course of an hour and a half before we put him to bed.  His temp was around 100 at that time.  He woke up at 12:30 am was still warm and so we applied them again.  He woke up again at around 4 am and his fever had broke!  He is doing great this morning :)  Now if only I could get a nap....
